Dax Swatek

Dax R. Swatek (born in Birmingham) is a political strategist and lobbyist.

Swatek, the son of attorney Bill Swatek, earned his bachelor of arts in political science and history at Auburn University and a Juris Doctorate at the Mississippi College School of Law.

He was a Congressional intern for Republican Congressman Spencer Bachus and, in 1996, served as Alabama Field Director for the National Republican Senatorial Committee. He was the campaign manager for Republican Governor Bob Riley in the 2006 general election, and was hired as a senior advisor in John McCain's unsuccessful presidential campaign in 2008.

As a political analyst and commentator, he has made multiple appearances on Alabama Public Television's "For the Record", and other local news programs.

He founded the lobbying firm of Swatek, Azbell, Howe & Ross in Montgomery in 2011.

Swatek's sister Barret, is a successful actress. Dax and his wife, Rachael built a new home in Homewood shortly after they were married.
