Jennings Bryan "Ears" Whitworth was the head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide football team for three seasons, from 1955 to 1957.

Before coming to Tuscaloosa, Whitworth was the head coach at Oklahoma A&M University (now Oklahoma State). He compiled a 22-27-1 record at A&M from 1950 to 1954. He was less successful at Alabama, winning no games in his first year and then posting a pair of two-win seasons before he was fired. He was succeeded by legendary coach Bear Bryant.

Whitworth is the father of attorney and former oil company executive J. Bryan Whitworth.
