Frederick Brown Jr (born October 26, 1921 in Birmingham) is a former aviation official and long-time mayor of Peachtree City, Georgia.

Brown grew up in Alabama and attended Alabama Polytechnic Institute at Auburn where he majored in mechanical engineering. He left after a year to become a Navy pilot during World War II. After the war he joined the Federal Aviation Administration's Flight Standards Division, retiring in 1978.

He and his wife, Nita, had moved to Peachtree City in 1973. He served three years on the City Council before he was elected mayor in 1982. He also served with the Fayette County Health Department and chaired the board for the American Heart Association of Fayette County.

Brown was chosen as Businessperson of the Year by the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce when he retired in 1991. Peachtree City's outdoor amphitheater is named in his honer (familiarly called "The Fred").
