Iwrestledabearonce (or I Wrestled A Bear Once or IWABO) is an American avant-garde metal band which formed in 2007 in Shreveport, Louisiana and was based in Birmingham for a couple of years before moving to Los Angeles. They are known for incorporating jazz, disco, swing, grindcore and electronica passages into their songs, and their music has been described as a "spastic blending of genres." The band's name was inspired by a Gary Busey quip.

Their debut EP was released in 2007 by Tragic Hero Records, followed by a full-length album produced by Ryan Boesch on Century Media in 2009. That album was re-released in a 3-disc "special edition" with a second album of remixes and a DVD of concert footage.

Current members include Krysta Cameron on vocals, Steven Bradley on keyboards and samples, John Ganey on guitar, Mikey Montgomery on drums, and Rickshaw Martin on bass. Former members include bassists Brian Dozier and Dave Branch, drummer Ryan Pearson, guitarist Mim Cameron, and keyboardist Daniel Andrews
