Ken Ward

Ken Ward (born June 13, 1967 in Peekskill, New York; died January 4, 2012 in Charlotte, North Carolina) was a reporter for WVTM 13 from October 2001 to November 2004.

Ward earned his bachelor's degree in communications from Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia in 1990 and a master of arts in communications at the College of New Rochelle in New Rochelle, New York in 1998. He began his television career as a reporter for cable-only News 12 in Westchester, New York in January 2001. After ten months there, he came to Birmingham as a general assignment reporter for WVTM.

After leaving Birmingham, Ward worked for WTVD-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina. In 2009 he moved to WSOC/WAXN-TV in Charlotte. He was to have started a new job with WFTS-TV in Tampa, Florida in early 2012. He was found dead in his home on January 4, apparently of natural causes. He was survived by his wife, Letitia, and a son.
