The Magic City Blues Society is a non-profit organization, incorporated January 10, 1993 in order to encourage performance, preservation, and appreciation of blues music in Birmingham.

The group sponsors frequent blues performances, publishes a monthly newsletter, maintains a lending library of books, and audio and video recordings.

Among the events sponsored by the society are the Phelan Park Music Series, the Battle of the Blues Bands, the Blues Ball, and numerous open jams.

From 1993 to 2007 the group organized an annual Magic City Blues Fest, but was unable to secure funding for 2008 and instead launched the Junkyard Juke series of smaller concerts.

The current president is Paul Walters.
