Magic City Flickr Group
The Magic City Flickr Group, (MCFG) is a group of people sharing photographs of Birmingham on the online photo-sharing site Flickr.com. The group was founded on February 22, 2005 by John Morse, who is also founder of the Bhamwiki.
As of April 2009 the group consists of 627 members and over 15,200 photos which are searchable by user-defined tags. Many can also be found by geographical location through a map interface.
The group also hosts a discussion forum and formerly featured a "Best of the Magic City" photo contest. A few meetups have been held as social events. Other activities have included sponsorship of Photocamp:Birmingham and a group trip to Tannehill Historical State Park.
The group held an exhibition of online and printed works in September 2007 as part of ArtWalk, sharing the German Club with Sloss Metal Arts.
