Maree Blackwell

Maree Macon Blackwell (born July 5, 1920) is a retired UAB professor of education and host of "Women's Perspective" on WGIB-FM and WAY-TV.

Maree was the daughter of Frances Macon, owner of the Macon Grocery on Old Montgomery Highway. As a teenager in the 1930s, Maree traveled with Brother Bryan on his preaching engagements across the state.

She spent 25 years teaching education at UAB. She is an active member of Glen Iris Baptist Church, and records her weekly radio program at their in-house studio.
