Nelson Brothers' Café is a casual soul food restaurant which anchors the Nelson Building at 312 17th Street North in Birmingham's 4th Avenue Historic District. It was founded in 1943 by brothers Daniel and George Nelson.
Some of the notable mainstays of the restaurant's menu include pork chops with rice and gravy and salmon croquettes. The restaurant serves hamburgers, wings and sandwiches and offers egg custard and sweet potato pies. The restaurant also serves breakfast all day.
Jessie Nelson took over the business from his father and uncle in 1990. After he died in April 2019 his daughter Antrice began running it with her son Elan.
