Vance Moody

Vance Allen Moody (born April 23, 1964) is a metallurgist who represented Ward 2, Place 2 in the Homewood City Council from 2008 to 2016.

Moody earned his bachelor of science in materials engineering at Auburn University in 1990. He worked at SMI Steel until 2001 and later became manager of product development and support for Kennametal Tricon from 2005 to 2015, and market director for Tricon Wear Solutions in Irondale since then.

Moody served as a youth athletics coach, and was appointed to the Homewood Park Board in 2008. He was also a member of the Homewood City Schools Foundation and helped revive the West Homewood Neighborhood Association in 2005. He ran unopposed to fill the seat left vacant by Joe Falconer in the 2008 election.

Moody was arrested in May 2019 and charged with first-degree sex abuse and sex abuse of a child under the age of 12.

Moody and his wife, Paula, have three children.
