Matt Coulter is a sports announcer and radio host. He is currently the voice of the Birmingham Steeldogs and the Jacksonville State Gamecocks. He is the public-address announcer for the Talladega Superspeedway, and has hosted the lunch-hour show "Middays with Matt" since 1993 on WJOX AM-690. He also hosts "Talkin' Hoops with Wimp Sanderson and Sonny Smith on the College Sports South television network.
Previously, Coulter was a sports reporter for WVTM. He has also provided play-by-play for the Birmingham Fire and Birmingham Barracudas and color commentary for UAB Blazers basketball and football for 8 years. He began his tenure with the Steeldogs in 2005.
