Stand 'N Snack was a fast food chain founded in 1967 by Alan Kaufman. He was inspired by the success of fast food giants like McDonald's and Burger King, and had the idea to open locations in the lobbies of large and medium-size office buildings rather than competing for sites with parking lots on major thoroughfares.
As the concept grew, Kaufman changed the name to Burger Chef, and later, Sandwich Chef.
