The Birmingham Unions played professional baseball for Birmingham in the short-lived "Southern Colored League" beginning in 1897.
Other teams on the circuit included the Hot Springs Arlingtons, Little Rock Quapaws, Palestine Tigers, Fort Worth Colts, Waco Wonders. There were also teams in Memphis and Pensacola.
