The Birmingham Gallery of Distinguished Citizens is a hall of fame for distinguished Birmingham citizens. Nominations are made by the Birmingham City Council. Bronze bas-relief plaques of those nominated are then displayed on the second floor hallway of Birmingham City Hall.

The gallery was first proposed by the City Council in 1975 and inaugurated in 1977. The 2005-2009 Birmingham City Council decided to honor Judge Richmond Pearson to a four-year honor. Beginning in 2008 touch-screen displays have been added so that visitors can learn more about the individuals honored.
