The Vulcans Community Awards is an annual awards program "recognizing civic pride, progress and leadership in the Birmingham region." The program, initiated in 2014, is coordinated by the Vulcan Park Foundation and serves as a fund-raiser for the educational mission of the Vulcan Park & Museum.

The public is invited to nominate individuals in five categories, from which a selection committee determines a "Vulcan Award" nominee for the best candidate and "Spear Award" nominations for the runners-up. Winners are honored at an annual banquet at The Club and take home a trophy modeled after Giuseppe Moretti's original clay model for Vulcan.
