The 1987 mayoral election for the city of Birmingham was held on October 13, 1987 with three challengers vying for the office held by two-term incumbent Richard Arrington, Jr.
Results
- Richard Arrington, Jr: 51,850 votes (64%)
- Bob McKee: 28,642 votes (35%)
- Richard Finley: 658 votes (1%)
- John Hawkins: 146 votes (0.1%)
Overall voter turnout was about 55%.
