Curt Bloom (born c. 1963 in Northern Westchester County, New York) is the play-by-play announcer and director of broadcasting for the Birmingham Barons on WJOX-AM.
Bloom graduated from North Salem High School in 1981 and earned a bachelor of arts in broadcasting communications at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro in 1985. He began calling minor league baseball games while still in college. After graduating he was hired by the Bakersfield Dodgers of the California League in 1988, then returned to the east coast as an announcer for the Prince William Cannons of the Carolina League.
Bloom moved up to AA with the Huntsville Stars in 1991. A year later he came to Birmingham to take over for Rob Evans. He was the play-by-play announcer for Michael Jordan's 1994 season with the Barons. He has also broadcast games for the Samford Bulldogs and UAB Blazers for ESPN Plus. In 2014–2015 he taught a course in radio broadcasting at Miles College. Since 2018 he has taught the same course at Birmingham-Southern College.
