Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin's 2023 State of the City address was delivered to the Kiwanis Club of Birmingham at the Harbert Center on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. It was Woodfin's 6th annual address, and followed the completion of the first year of his second four-year term of office.
In the speech, Woodfin credited the participation of regional partners and organizations such as Prosper, Birmingham Business Alliance and UAB for supporting the city's successful economic development projects and claimed that 36 more projects with a total investment of more than $600 million were underway. Woodfin promised to work more diligently on regional cooperation, such as efforts to improve coordination of emergency services.
