The Diocese of the Holy Cross has been a non-geographical unit of the Anglican Catholic Church since 2021. Prior to this, it was an independent conservative Anglican denomination. It was formed on 2003 by churches and clergy withdrawing from the Anglican Province of Christ the King.
The diocese is led by Bishop Paul Hewett and has offices in Columbia, South Carolina.
St Bede's Anglican Church in Irondale is the only Birmingham-area church in the diocese.
