In 2005 McGlamery returned to Birmingham and began working as public awareness coordinator for Crisis Center Inc. She was promoted to rape response coordinator in 2006, to director of sexual assault support services in 2008, and to assistant director in 2009. In 2014 she was named executive director of the organization. She left in 2023 to accept her current position, succeeding Ramona Graffeo, who retired.

McGlamery is a 2017 graduate of Leadership Birmingham and has served as board president for the Alabama Coalition Against Rape. She and her husband, Chris Richardson married in 2004 and live in Roebuck Springs.
