Jefferson Corner is the present name for a two-story commercial building developed between 1908 and 1910 by attorney William Walker Jr on the site of a former residence on the northeast corner of Block 74, at the southwest corner of Richard Arrington Jr Boulevard North and 4th Avenue North.
The building, originally divided into five small shop fronts on 21st Street, a prominent corner shop, and two deep stores on 4th Avenue, was marketed and leased by the Jemison Real Estate & Insurance Co. In their advertisements they notes the elaborate facades with extensive plat glass show windows and prism glass transoms to reflect light deep into the interiors. It was expected to open on January 1, 1910.
The building was documented in 1985 as a contributing structure to the first boundary extension of the Downtown Birmingham Historic District listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
The building has housed the downtown Birmingham branch of ServisFirst Bank. In 2019 the rest of the building was renovated into seven 14,000 square-foot office/retail suites.
