The Magnolia Hills golf course (formerly Magnolia Meadows golf course) is an 18-hole, par 68, 3,683-yard public golf course located at 315 Shelby County Highway 47 in Columbiana. It was designed by Rick Rounsavall and opened in 2001.
The 50-acre property was sold for $1.05 million on December 28, 2007 to Amethyst Entertainment, a corporation formed by Sean, Eva and Ron Swafford, who intent to continue operating it as a golf course. Before the sale, the city of Columbiana had formed a Public Athletic Board to bid on the course and help prevent it being turned into a residential subdivision. That board may continue to serve the city by developing other athletic facilities.
