H. Y. Carson Filter Plant is located on Highway 151 in Pinson. It is a water treatment plant owned by the Birmingham Water Works. Built in 1972, in 2008 the facility underwent expansion to increase water capacity by 25%. The plant filters water from the Water Works' reservior at Inland Lake.
