In October [[2006]], it was announced that the camp had been sold to a developer who plans to build a residential project entitled [[Duncan Bridge Resorts South]] on the site of the camp. The [[Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Alabama|Boys & Girls Club]] made the decision to sell the property due to the increasing development in the vicinity of Smith Lake taking away from the camp being truly in the wilderness.
