Started in 2007, MIST Academy is currently focused on developing its math and problem solving programs, which include programs for students in grades 4 through 12.  Classes are designed to provide broader and more challenging curriculum than even advanced classroom material.
MIST Academy is a member of the [[Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce]] and was honored as a Partners in Education program by [[Vestavia Hills High School]] at the May [[2008]] chamber luncheon.

MIST Academy is an educational enrichment program for advanced math and science students in grades 4-12 the Birmingham area. MIST stands for Mathematics, Informatics, Science, and Technology. It was founded in December 2007 by instructor Matthew Crawford.

MIST Academy is a member of the Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce and was honored as a Partners in Education program by Vestavia Hills High School at the May 2008 chamber luncheon.

MIST Academy donates time and resources for the Alabama MATHCOUNTS (middle school math team) and Alabama ARML (high school math team) programs.
