Daniel Ellis (born c. 1984 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma) is a Baptist minister and an accomplished long-distance runner who qualified for the 2008 Olympic trials (finishing 52nd). He won the 2010 Mercedes Marathon in Birmingham.
Ellis is a 2006 graduate of the Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He married Bekah Brock, a fellow runner on the school's track team. They have one daughter, Lydia.
Ellis came to Birmingham as a student at the Beeson School of Divinity at Samford University. He pastored Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Pleasant Grove and also works at the Trak Shak.
