Virgil Lawrence "Spud" Davis (born December 20, 1904 in Birmingham, died August 14, 1984 in Birmingham) was a catcher in Major League Baseball for the St Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies, Cincinnati Reds, and Pittsburgh Pirates. He also served as the manager of the Pirates in 1946.
