Gilbert R. "Gil" Hill (born November 6, 1931 in Birmingham) is a former police detective in Detroit, Michigan and president of the Detroit City Council.
Hill joined the U. S. Air Force in 1950.
While he was a detective, Hill appeared on film in all three Beverly Hills Cop films as "Inspector Todd". He was elected to the city council in 1989 and lost in a runoff to Kwame Kilpatrick in Detroit's 2001 mayoral election (held on his 70th birthday).
Hill and his wife Delores have three children and three grandchildren.
