The 1972 Alabama State Fair (called Fair '72) was a State Fair held in October 1972 at the Alabama State Fairgrounds.
In addition to livestock and educational exhibits, the fair featured the World's Highest Mattress Diving Act and Danny Fleenor and his Auto Dare Devils along with stock car races at the Birmingham International Raceway. The grandstand hosted appearances by entertainers such as The Caldwells, Carl Smith, Jean Shepard and the Second Fiddles, and Joe Stampley.
