Lulu's Chicago Style Eatery is a hot dog stand and Chicago-style sandwich shop at 199 Beechnut Street in Trussville. Owner LuAnn Beck, a native of Chicago, originally opened the restaurant in the early 2000s, winning The Birmingham News' "Top Dog in Town" contest in 2001. Due to bridge construction on Chalkville Road, and having two young children, Beck decided not to renew her lease in 2003. The space, inside a Shell service station, was later home to a succession of restaurants including Loros and Husky Grill. In September 2012, Beck reopened Lulu's in the same spot as before.
