Canterbury Shop was a clothing store which operated for six decades in Mountain Brook Village.
The shop was founded in 1948 by Bernard Goldstein and Irving Warner, with Ruby Burdin as manager. Its original location was 2406 Canterbury Road. The store moved to a newly-built store developed by Joe Scotch at 2414 Canterbury Road in 1951, and then opened a a new air-conditioned store on the corner of Petticoat Lane in 1953. That building, also developed by Scotch and designed by architect Darcy Tatum, featured a wrap-around plate-glass display window at the corner.
