John Holladay was the coach for the Walker High School Vikings football team in Jasper from 2007 until the first game of the 2013 season.

Holladay was involved in an on-field brawl with rival Cullman High School on August 30, 2013 after Cullman beat Walker 13-10 at Ki-Ro Gambrell Field. On September 3, Holladay resigned his position as football coach, but remained on administrative leave from his teaching position. Offensive coordinator Heath Brunner was named interim head coach.
