The Birmingham Large Users Group (BLUG) is an organization of users of large (mainframe) computers in the Birmingham area. It began in 1983 with a series of lunch meetings at the Downtown Club with representatives of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama, SouthTrust Bank, Sonat, BellSouth, Liberty National, UAB, Jim Walter Corporation and AmSouth Bank.
