Laymen's Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church was located in East Birmingham at 2207 Vanderbilt Road. Its cornerstone is dated 1967 and lists E.D. Williams as the pastor, T.A. Pratt as the presiding elder and E.P. Murchison as bishops. Trustees listed on the cornerstone are E.W. Windham, L.J. Pritchett, A.G. Smith, N.E. Wills, Sr, E. Bush and W.M. Brookings.. The church had closed prior to 2021 as the neighborhood immediately to its south had been razed and replaced by Greenwood Park.

After the church had closed it was purchased in 2022 by Hispanic Iglesia de Christo
