Levi Reid or Levi Reed was the first Jefferson County Sheriff, taking office upon his commission on October 28, 1819, about 8 months after the Alabama territory was ceded to the United States and a little over a month before Jefferson County was officially split from Blount County. He served through October 5, 1822.
