First Baptist Church of East Thomas (also known as First Missionary Baptist Church of East Thomas) is located at 419 11th Court West in East Thomas. It was established in 1938
Because of its role in the Alabama Christian Movement for Human Rights, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005, and recognized earlier as a "movement church" by the Birmingham Historical Society.
