Barbara Lang Clemon is a retired fourth-grade teacher. She was the first African American teacher to work at Concord Elementary School in Hueytown and has recently retired after 37 years in the classroom. She married Columbia University law student U. W. Clemon in 1967 and has two children, Isaac and Michelle.
