Bob Johnson (born c. 1949; died May 13, 2016 in Gardendale) was a political reporter.
Johnson began covering state politics for the Montgomery Advertiser in the 1970s and later worked as a reporter and editor at the Birmingham Post-Herald and for the Associated Press. In addition to covering politics, Johnson cultivated a reputation for engaging human-interest stories.
Outside of writing, Johnson was involved in community theater and was an avid traveler. He died as a result of a stroke in May 2016. He was survived by three children and several grandchildren.
