The J. M. Smucker Co. Manufacturing Facility and Distribution Center is a planned facility for the Orrville, Ohio-based food manufacturer J. M. Smucker Co. on a 225-acre site at 7351 Old Tuscaloosa Highway in the JeffMet McCalla industrial park in McCalla.
The $1.1 billion facility,touted as "the largest capital investment in the county's history," was announced in November 2021 and is expected to open in May 2024 with 750 employees. It is designed to manufacture, package and distribute Smucker's "Uncrustables" line of frozen sealed crustless sandwiches.
