The Grants Mill Lake Purdy Bridge is a two lane bridge over Lake Purdy in northern St. Clair County. The bridge, built in 1935 and has a main span length of 170 feet. An emergency inspection by ALDOT in July 2002 noted the deteriorated condition of the steel structure would need to result in strictly enforced weight limits and warning signs be placed at the approaches to the structure.
#REDIRECT Grant's Mill Road bridge

Due to the continued deteriorating state of the structure and motorists ignoring both speeding and weight regulations, in August 2007, Birmingham mayor Bernard Kincaid threatened to close the bridge altogether if motorists continued to ignore its restrictions.
