Boatright Companies is a group of five companies involved in railroad operations owned by Shane Boatright and based in Inverness. Boatright started his company right out of college by offering vegetation control to railroads. In 2007 Boatright purchased the St Mary's Railroad in Georgia, fulfilling one of Boatright's lifelong dreams.

In April 2009 the company announced plans to build a $25 million crosstie plant in Carbon Hill, adding to one it already operates in Wilton. That September, it announced it would be replacing the Wilton plant with a new $40 million plant in Clanton.

Boatright supports the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum in Calera by providing crossties and also donates to the Brierfield Volunteer Fire Department.
