Mellon Bridge

The Mellon Bridge or Mellon Mill Bridge was a covered bridge located over Choccolocco Creek, near Sunny Eve Church east of Oxford in Calhoun County.

The 100-bridge was constructed in the late 19th century using a modified king post design for its heavy timber trusses. The Oxford Jaycees were in the process of planning a 10-acre park with the bridge as its centerpiece when arsonists destroyed it on October 3, 1970.
