The Golden Tornado or Golden 33 was a 1953 Studebaker Starlight coupe owned by racing promoter J. P. Rotton, Jr and raced under the Hugh Babb's team with a series of drivers, including Fonty Flock, Bo Fields, Harold Fryar, Bill Latham and Jack Smith.
The car was heavily modified for racing, reportedly with a Packard engine moved far back in the compartment and joined to an "in-out box" single-geared transmission. The paint finish consisted of two or three pounds of actual gold dust sprinkled over a red primer base and sealed with a clear lacquer finish. It was designed by body-work specialist Cannonball Brown.
