The Birmingham Area Music Awards (BAMAs) are an awards program founded in 1998 by Birmingham Weekly to generate interest and recognition for local musicians. The program was suspended between 2002 and 2006, but returned in 2007.
The awards trophies used up to 2002 were created by Justin Cordes and Chris Toro of Toro-Cordes Iron Art. The 2007 awards were made by Fonde Taylor.
