Raymond James Boland, born February 8, 1932, in Ireland, was the second Roman Catholic Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Birmingham and the seventh Bishop of the Diocese of Kansas City-Saint Joseph.
He was ordained to the priesthood on June 16, 1957, for the Diocese of Washington. He was appointed Bishop of Birmingham on February 2, 1988, and ordained on March 25, 1988. He was appointed Bishop of Kansas City-Saint Joseph, on June 22, 1993. Bishop Boland retired May 24, 2005, and currently serves as Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Kansas City-Saint Joseph.
