True Love Church

The True Love Church is a church founded in 2001 by Reverend Eddie White. It meets at the former Oakland Baptist Church at 1001 35th Street in Ensley and is currently constructing a new $2.8 million sanctuary on the site of the former fellowship hall. Future plans include the establishment of a Christian school.

White, a former teacher, left 23rd Street Baptist during a dispute over his election to the pulpit and began holding worship services in the family life center of St John Missionary Baptist Church Dolomite. From 140 members at its beginning, True Love has grown to over 1,000 members in 2008.
