New South Magazine, billed as "Birmingham's Entertainment & Leisure Magazine", was a full color, glossy magazine published bi-monthly by Griffin Publishing and distributed at no cost to readers. The magazine's offices were located at 701 37th Street South, Suit [sic] 15. The publisher/president was Ed Griffin while the editor was Mark Griffin. Additional staff included Stacey Schuler, sports editor; David Mackle, entertainment editor; Mikki Bond, dining editor; and Chris Bonds, art director.

The first issue was cover dated September/October 1996. It lasted to at least May 1998.
