The 1910 Birmingham Barons were the 1st Birmingham Barons team to play at Rickwood Field, built that year by new owner Rick Woodward.
The Barons were part of the 8-team Southern Association. Woodward purchased the team in February from J. William McQueen and immediately drew up plans for a magnificent new ballpark. He retained player-manager Carlton Molesworth after Miller Huggins turned down the job.
Molesworth led the 1910 team in hits with 152 in 144 games. Star pitcher Harry Coveleski started 30 games and compiled a 21-10 record with a 1.21 ERA for the season. Woodward had acquired Coveleski and outfielder Bob Messenger for $1,000 each from the Chicago White Sox.
