29th Court South (previously 17th Street) is an east-west street crossing Central Avenue in Homewood. West of Central the road extends beside, then through an apartment complex. East of Central the road, formerly a residential street, extends into the Homewood Central Business District to Crescent Avenue.

The road was renamed as 29th Court during the 1940s when Homewood renamed several streets to align with Birmingham's street numbering system.
