The race featured modified street motorcycles with up to 1000cc displacement racing over 100 kilometers (28 laps). The championship event, won by Blake Young on a Suzuki GSX-R1000, was the culmination of the Superbike season. An awards banquet followed.  


The event was moved from April to September for the [[2010]] race, making it the final event in the annual AMA Pro Road Racing circuit.
In previous years, the Barber track hosted the AMA's [[Honda Superbike Classic]]. In [[2011]] the track resumed hosting a Spring event.
